Budweiser Clydesdales Coming to LSU-Clemson Game

Baton Rouge, Louisiana - If you’re heading to Tiger Stadium for the LSU-Clemson game this Saturday, September 5, you’ll get to see more than just college football. The famous Budweiser Clydesdales are making a special appearance in Baton Rouge before the LSU game.

The Clydesdales will appear as part of Anheuser-Busch’s partnership with Folds of Honor. Folds of Honor is a nonprofit that provides scholarships and educational help to the families of fallen or disabled U.S. service members and first responders.

About the Budweiser Clydesdales

The Budweiser Clydesdales have been part of Anheuser-Busch history for more than 80 years. They first became famous in 1933 after Prohibition ended. The horses pulled a Budweiser beer wagon through the streets of New York. Thousands of people came out to see them, helping turn the Clydesdales into one of the company's most famous symbols. Today, the Clydesdales travel across the country and make hundreds of appearances each year.

Taking care of the Clydesdales is a big job. Each horse can eat up to 50 to 60 pounds of hay every day and drink as much as 30 gallons of water on a warm day. Their horseshoes are also huge. Each shoe can measure more than 20 inches long and weigh about five pounds.

Budweiser Clydesdales To Join LSU On March Down Victory Hill on September 5th

The Clydesdales will join the LSU football team and the Golden Band from Tigerland as they make their way down Victory Hill before the game. The Victory Hill March is scheduled for 4:34 p.m. The LSU band will also perform at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center shortly after the march. LSU and Clemson are set to kick off at 6:30 p.m., with the game being shown on ABC.
