It is so nice to see a bunch of locally-owned businesses coming back. It has been a long road back for a lot of them after the two hurricanes, Laura and Delta, of 2020 devastated our area and local businesses.

As we reported back in June, one of Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana;'s restaurants and bars had reopened. They officially had a grand re-opening ribbon-cutting ceremony in June with Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter. Here are those pictures.

Since that day, the owners of Coolers have been planning a grand re-opening party to celebrate Coolers back open. Well, that day is fast approaching as the grand re-opening party is now set for Saturday, August 12th, 2023 in Lake Charles.

Coolers are located at 3622 1/2 Ryan Street in Lake Charles and they are ready for you to come see the new look of the place since they had to completely rebuild after the hurricanes.

They posted on Facebook the invite and here is what they had to say!

After almost 3 years of recovery, Coolers finally opened in early February and the love we've received could never be thanked enough. We've had the soft opening & the official ribbon cutting, but we have YET to really celebrate our re-opening since Hurricane Laura in 2020 and IT'S TIME!!!
We invite you to spend August 12th with us at Coolers!! We'll have LIVE MUSIC, DJ, VENDOR MARKET, SEVERAL RAFFLE ITEMS, & MORE! There will be a $10 cover (starting at 9:30) as well as drink specials. We want to celebrate with the community that makes Coolers what it is!
