Most Overpriced Restaurant in the U.S. Has Over 100 Louisiana Locations

If you're like me, you stay away from fast food restaurants at all costs just because it feels like they're all so expensive and prices rise daily. Well, according to a report, they have been labeled the "Most Overpriced Restaurant in the U.S." and there are over 120 locations right here in Louisiana.

In South Louisiana, most individuals would probably agree that they enjoy cooking for themselves at home but ultimately dine out due to convenience. The reasonable cost contributes to that convenience. In the past, fast food was considered "cheap," and as a result, people were willing to accept that the contents would be of poorer quality.

Here in Louisiana, we are of course known for our unique southern cuisine. Whether you're craving Gumbo, Crawfish, Étouffée, a King Cake, a Poboy, or some jambalaya, or maybe you want some fresh Beignets, Louisiana truly has a little something for everyone.

With all due respect, you could combine every famous dish from every state in the nation and still not have as many as you’ll find in Louisiana. This isn't a brag; the food here is just exceptional! There are many native dishes from the Pelican State that you may be familiar with.

Wendy's Named Most Expensive Fast Food Chain in the Country

Wendy's got the top spot amongst the fast food restaurants ranked by Mashed based on price and value.

Despite its prices, Louisiana residents can't get enough Wendy's. According to the company, there are 124 Wendy's locations in the Pelican State. There are 11 in Shreveport, 11 in New Orleans, and 8 in Baton Rouge.

"Known for their square-shaped burger patties, Wendy's has historically topped the list of pricey fast food. In 1971, the average burger would cost diners around $0.30. However, Wendy's was charging nearly twice that at $0.55. In fact, from the 1970s to the 2010s, Wendy's burgers have consistently cost more than their biggest competitors, McDonald's and Burger King. Perhaps their commitment to offering "fresh, never frozen" beef is the reason behind the historically higher price tag. But regardless, Wendy's customers have to decide whether the extra pennies are worth it."
