J. Cole, Jaden Smith, Zoey Dollaz and More: New Projects This Week
There were several reasons to be excited this week. Aside from celebrating America’s independence, several long-awaited releases finally hit the streets and retailers.
J. Cole and his band of dreamers are back for the third installment of their Revenge of the Dreamers series. After gracing the cover of XXL's Spring issue, hosting epic studio sessions, launching a major music festival and dropping singles like “Down Bad,” “LamboTruck,” “Costa Rica” and “Got Me,” Cole and crew finally deliver ROTD3. Alongside the Dreamville squad, Smokepurpp, Ski Mask The Slump God, Reese LaFlare and others make appearances throughout the hotly anticipated compilation.
Jaden Smith returns with Erys. First teased in 2017, Smith’s sophomore effort arrives months after the release of his The Sunset Tapes: A Cool Tape Story mixtape with a guestlist that includes his little sister Willow, Trinidad Jame$, Kid Cudi, A$AP Rocky and Tyler, The Creator. The “Icon” rapper will support the Igor creator on his forthcoming international tour.
Zoey Dollaz returns with his first project of 2019. The Freebandz Ent. artist offers up the new mixtape Last Year Being Humble. The new nine-song project features guest appearances from label boss Future, Gunna, Ink and Gashi.
"THIS PROJECT WASNT FOR ME IT WAS FOR YALL," Dollaz noted about the project on Instagram. "I WAS OPEN COMPLETELY I DIDNT HIDE NO EMOTIONS I WAS HURT I WAS DEPRESSED I WAS STRESSED OUT I WAS ADDICTED TO PILLS AND LOWKEY PLAYING IT OFF TRYNA FIGHT STRESS BUT I OVER CAME THAT SHIT!! AND WE HERE!! GO BUMP THAT SHIT!!"
