As previously reported, about a year ago Jay Z was being sued by a former Roc-A-Fella sound engineer.  Chauncey Mahan claimed he played a major role in the production of Hov's earlier hit albums, including Vol 3…Life and Times of S. Carter.  BET reports Jay Z thought masters for some those projects were lost, but as it turns out Mahan had them in his possession.

According in legal docs, the former engineer said he would return them provided Jay Z pay him $100,000.  That of course is extortion.  Speaking of which, it's straight up illegal and authorities got involved and set Mahan up in a sting operation.  Hov also turned the tables and sued him and won!.  BET reports a judge threw the suit out last week, ruling that Mahan took too long to file his case and then granted Jay Z full ownership of the masters.

An finally, I'm sad to say it's over between Big Sean and Ariana Grande.   E! has confirmed the young couple released a joint statement via their publicists to reveal the news today.

“They both care deeply for each other and remain close friends. We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time.”

But is this true?  You can never really tell with things.  Quite frankly, it's not our business anyway.  For what it's worth, peep the video below for more details.
