Imagine sitting in church on Sunday morning and John Legend walks in.  Then imagine being blessed with a free concert for the famous balladeer.  Well, that's basically what happened during  Sunday morning service at a church in Philadelphia.John Legend belted out his version of Aretha Franklins' gospel classic "How I Got Over" recently a Philadelphia church.  Singing in church comes as second nature for John as with many R&B singers, he grew up singing in church.

Believe it or not John not only sang in church, but he was the minister of music at his church.  Not only was he doing what he loved to do, but his music ministry paid his way through college.

Using some of his down time from his tour with Sade, John stopped by the Calvary Baptist Church in West Philly and led the church choir in a soul stirring rendition "How I Got Over".  Aretha recorded the song for her Amazing Grace album back in 1972.
