Kansas City Southern Holiday Express Train Returning To SWLA
Labor Day marks the end of summer. Though it is a bummer, on the bright side the last three months of the year represent the holidays. This November and December, the famous Kansas City Southern Holiday Express will be on tour here in Louisiana. This is the kind of train all kids big and small would want to see. As always, visitors can tour the Thomas Engine inspired holiday train FREE.
The Holiday Express was built in 1997 on the same tradition as the Santa Train, which ran on a segment of rails bought by KCS. Over 21 years, the project has raised more than $2.6 million. This year the Holiday Express will celebrate our 30th season of serving people desperately in need. Those wanting to make a tax-deductible donation to the 2022 Holiday Express fundraising effort may do so here.
The beautiful Christmas train will begin an eight-state, 20-city tour on November 23. Due to the pandemic, this will be the first time the KCS Holiday Express will be in the Bayou State since 2019! Residents will get a chance to see it when it rides in on the rails in 5 different cities including 2 in SWLA. The 2022 Louisiana tour arrives on the rails in the following locations:
Monroe - Nov. 25
Mansfield - Nov. 29
DeQuincy - Nov. 30
Leesville - Dec. 2
Shreveport - Dec. 4
