Today in Tha Wire, right up there among the greatest female vocal groups of all time like TLC, SWV, Xscape and En Vogue, are Destiny's Child.  There is no question that them sistas set the bar super high, when it comes to performing and producing hits.  D-Child is a hard act to follow, but as a former member Kelly Rowland knows what it's going to take to duplicate that success.

An it just so happens she's looking for the next girl super-group to follow in her former groups footsteps in her new docu-series on BET, Chasing Destiny.  The show premiered Monday and airs every week so check your local listings for the air time.  In the meantime Kelly has teamed-up with renowned choreographer and current creative director for BeyonceFrank Gatson Jr.  Gatson famously choreographed videos, dance routines and live performances for not only Destiny's Child, but Michael Jackson, TLC, En Vogue, Usher and more.  So he ain't no joke.  Together the search is on for the hottest and most talented up-and-coming singers to pick-up where Destiny’s Child’s left off.

In her own words Kelly explains the concept of the show:

This is really going to be good and it doesn't look like it's going to be a walk in the park for the ladies participating.  At the end of the day, these ladies gotta work together and everybody can't be the lead singer.  Like Kelly said, “I don’t want reality stars, I want stars.” These girls got to bring it.

According to reports, Kelly pulled woman from all over the countryside Atlanta, New York Chi-Town and L.A. to find the most talented, unsigned artists she could.  She got some of the participants from the internet like untapped YouTube and Instagram singers, not to mention tapping into friends of friends in the record business with the ultimate goal of discovering the nation’s next mega girl group.

I will be watching!  Of course I'll also keep you posted on any new, news as well.  Stay in the know with Tha Wire every weekday at 12:50 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. on The Peoples Station 107 Jamz.
