Lake Charles Kiwanis North 4th Annual Production Of Negro Spirituals & Gospel Music Sounds
You are cordially invited to attend the 4th Annual production of Negro Spiritual & Gospel Music Sounds - "An American Phenomenon," presented by Lake Charles Kiwanis North. Enjoy the sounds of local choirs as they sing sacred songs, accompanied by narrations on the origins and meanings behind them. Find out why gospel music and spiritual traditions, that date back to the 1700's, still apply to our day-to-day.
This is an event for the entire public and admission is free. Negro Spiritual & Gospel Music Sounds - "An American Phenomenon" will take place on Sunday, February 26 at 6 p.m. at Reeves Temple C.M.E. Church, 1400 Winterhalter Street. The annual production is a fundraiser for Lake Charles Kiwanis North, which enables them to continue their educational and service programs.
The purpose for the production - To enlighten and inspire our youth by exposing them to something new and rich in culture. To promote the importance of sacred music through song and entertainment. Finally, to raise community awareness and understanding of the role Negro spirituals and gospel music continues to play in contemporary life.
