Lake Charles Memorial Day Guide: Parades, Tributes & Family Activities
As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage has secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and we extend our deepest gratitude to the families they left behind.
Memorial Day isn’t just a time of reflection—it’s also a moment to come together with loved ones. Whether attending a ceremony, enjoying the outdoors, or exploring local events, it’s a time to celebrate life, legacy, and community.
In Lake Charles, Memorial Day (observed Monday, May 26) brings solemn remembrance and the unofficial start of summer. City Hall and other public offices will be closed in observance. Be sure to visit the powerful Avenue of Flags display at Orange Grove Graceland Cemetery—a moving tribute to our fallen heroes.
Plenty of family-friendly events are happening all weekend long across Southwest Louisiana. Scroll down for the full schedule and make the most of this meaningful holiday.
