Lake Charles, let’s get it! The City is kicking off 2025 in style with a jam-packed schedule of Partners in Parks events you won’t want to miss. These family-friendly, free, and open-to-the-public gatherings are all about bringing our community together and making memories. So, mark your calendars, because there’s something for everyone!

Mayor Nic Hunter - Building a Brighter 2025

According to Mayor Hunter,

“This past year has been a banner year for our park programming, and we’re looking forward to an even bigger 2025! Partners in Parks continues to create amazing opportunities for everyone in our community to enjoy our public spaces.”

JANUARY 2025

Saturday, January 11:
It’s time to show some love to our Hometown Heroes! Bring the family to check out fire trucks, police vehicles, and more from 2 – 4 PM at the Legacy Center, then stay to cheer on the McNeese men’s and women’s basketball teams in their doubleheader.

Saturday, January 18:
Level up your money game with Financial Literacy Made Fun, hosted by SWLA Credit Union. It’s going down from 9 – 11 AM at McMillan Park, featuring interactive activities to boost your financial know-how.

Saturday, January 25:
Calling all animal lovers! The Nature in Focus 2025: Scales and Tails – All Things Reptile event will let you get up close and personal with some slithery friends from 9 – 11 AM at Riverside Park.

February: Let’s Celebrate, Create, and Explore

Saturday, February 1:
Join the search for Carmen Sandiego in the ultimate scavenger hunt, Where in Downtown Lake Charles is Carmen Sandiego? It’s a family-friendly adventure you’ll love!

Saturday, February 8:
Swing by the Bayou Bash Gator Meet-N-Greet to meet some of Louisiana’s favorite scaly locals.

Saturday, February 15:
Get crafty and festive at the Mardi Gras Craft Workshop, where you can create colorful masterpieces perfect for parade season.

Saturday, February 22:
Spring is calling, and it’s time to get your hands dirty at Gardening in Spring, another can’t-miss Nature in Focus event.

March: Mambo, Magic, and Music

Saturday, March 1:
Let the good times roll! The Children’s Mardi Gras Second Line Stroll will bring all the Mardi Gras vibes to the Lakefront Promenade.

Reach for the stars at the Region 5 STEM Center’s Star Lab Experience from 9 – 11 AM.

Tuesday, March 25:
Close out the first quarter with a bang at the Music in the Park Series, brought to you by McNeese State University’s Banners Series.
