Monday, May 26, 2025, is the official Memorial Day holiday and a time of solemn remembrance for the brave soldiers who gave their lives in service to this great country.

City Hall and all administrative offices will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26.
All Calcasieu Public libraries, community centers, and park offices will also be closed in observance of the holiday.

Curbside garbage and recycling collection will follow a modified schedule. Residents are encouraged to check the city’s website or social media pages for pickup changes. Essential services, such as police, fire, and emergency response, will remain fully operational. Transit services will operate on a holiday schedule, if applicable.

Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. As we gather with family or attend local ceremonies, let us remember that Memorial Day is not simply a day off—it is a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
