Coming up this weekend, we will observe the Memorial Day holiday in Southwest Louisiana. Folks will either stay in town and go see a concert, go out to eat, or even head out of town for three day weekend.

The City Of Lake Charles has announced that trash and garbage pickup in Lake Charles will be interrupted for the holiday.

According to Katie Harrington with the City Of Lake Charles said,

Trash and garbage normally picked up on Monday will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

They also want to remind Lake Charles residents that their trash containers need to be placed out in front of their home or business before 7:00 am on your trash day or on the night before the day your trash is scheduled to be picked up.

They also remind you that you will need to bring your trash cans back from the road and back to your home or business by 7:00 pm the day your trash is picked up.

Kaite Harrington also went on to say,

All other services of the Department of Public Works, including all Recycling Operations (Nelson Ball Field/Alma Lane and Roving Green Truck) and the Incinerator will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2022, but will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
