Louisiana Candidates Seeking Your Vote On November 8
The November 8, midterm elections are right around the corner. Election Day is, Tuesday, November 8, 2022, when voters across the nation will cast ballots to select candidates to represent them in public office— from local to the national government. Presidential elections are held every four years.
The upcoming election in November is centered around candidates running for a seat in one, of the two chambers, that form the United States Congress - The United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate. In Layman's terms, these are the folks that make the laws. This election cycle comes around every two years.
In Louisiana, the front runners hoping to win a seat in the U.S. Senate are:
Republican Sen. John Kennedy (running for re-election) - firstname.lastname@example.org
Democrat (former TOPGUN Navy Pilot) Luke Mixon
It's a heated battle for what political party will control the United States government. Republicans are fighting to hold on to a slim majority in the U.S. Senate. Kennedy who is endorsed by former President Donald Trump hopes he can hold on to his seat and is seeking a second term. While Democrats want to make him a one-term Senator and flip his seat by electing Luke Mixon, endorsed by Gov. John Bel Edwards.
Kennedy and Mixon are the two most likely candidates to win in November, but they are not the only ones running for the seat. There are 11 other candidates running for Kennedy's seat in the U.S. Senate.
