This initiative is more than just a market—it’s a lifeline for families living in food deserts, offering an affordable way to fill their pantries with fresh produce, beans, and other nutritious goods.

Community is at the heart of this effort. The Second Harvest Food Bank is a dedicated team of community partners, on a mission to stamp out hunger in Louisiana. One goal, and one neighborhood at a time, with affordable and nourishing options for everyone.

The Mobile Market is a game-changer for those feeling the pinch of rising food and utilities. Though each month some produce items will change due to harvesting being in and out of season, below is an example of the prices shoppers can expect to pay.Staff

Mark your calendars and don’t miss the chance to shop for your family this Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the parking lot at Warren United Methodist Church, located at 1800 Orchid Street in Lake Charles. The Mobile Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, so come early, shop big, and stock up for the month!

By the way, help is always needed. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer and help to distribute food at the Mobile Market, please click this link for more info and sign up for our next community event!

Let’s show our support for this incredible initiative. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier community. See you there!
