McNeese Football To Play Florida Gators In 2023

Last night it was announced by the SEC network that your McNeese Cowboys football team will travel to Gainsville, Florida to take on the SEC's Flordia Gators in the 2023 season.

This will be the first time that the McNeese Cowboys will play the Florida Gators in the universities history. Matthew Bonnette said,

Although it will be the first time the Cowboys and Gators will meet on the gridiron, it will be the third time for McNeese to go up against a sitting SEC team. The Cowboys have faced LSU twice, most recently to open the 2021 season.

Also excited to see this matchup happen is McNeese Athletic Director Heath Schroyer who said,

"I'm excited to have the University of Florida on our schedule next season," said McNeese Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer. "Anytime you get to play an SEC on national TV is a positive. These games help build our brand. I know our fans, donors and players will enjoy going to The Swamp and competing against one of the best programs in the country."

The Cowboys will take on the Florida Gators on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, aka The Swamp. No word yet on when tickets for this game will be available but once we find out, we will pass it along to you.
