Update (Nov. 17, 4:40 p.m. EST):

A rep for The Philadelphia Courts tells Fader Meek does not yet have a scheduled bail hearing. The court spokesperson said a clerk accidentally scheduled the hearing preemptively and without approval from Judge Brinkley. “This was an administrative error,” the spokesperson, Gabe Roberts, told Pitchfork.

Roberts does say, however, that the request for a bail hearing is on file and pending approval. Meek's lawyers claim the Philly rapper actually did have a bail hearing set for Nov. 27 at 9 a.m.

Original Story:

As his legal team continues to fight for his freedom and justice, Meek Mill has reportedly been granted a bail hearing. According to Philly.com, the Wins & Losses rapper will have a hearing with Judge Genece E. Brinkley on Nov. 27, where his legal team will plead to have him freed on bail pending appeal.

This week, Meek's team filed the bail motion, with the judge scheduling the hearing just hours after the motion was filed. This is also the first public response from Brinkley, who has been receiving heavy backlash for sentencing the Philadelphia entertainer to two to four years in prison for violating his probation.

Fans have been protesting Meek's sentence with #FreeMeekMill hashtags, petitions, as well as a huge rally that was held in Philly.

Reports also say that Meek has been transferred from the maximum-security prison at Camp Hill to the lower security state prison in Chester. He was being held in solitary confinement since his sentencing, which his legal team was trying to fight against for the sake of Meek's psyche and creativity. They asked that he be moved to general population with the other inmates, believing that he won't come across any issues amongst other prisoners.

We'll have to wait until next week to see if Meek will be granted bail, but for now, it looks like his living conditions may be a little easier to manage while behind bars.
