As far as the highlights of the star studded event was full of surprises and show-stopping performances from the likes of Usher, Rita Ora, Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, Taylor Swift, plus Nicki Minaj, who handled her wardrobe malfunction pretty good by the way.  But the most talked about moments where Miley Cyrus who let a homeless teen except her best music video award and of course the biggest of the night Mrs Carter performance of course.

Beyonce’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award performance was nothing short of flawless and to top it off, her husband, Jay Z presented her with the prestigious award along with their 2-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy. Putting an end to any rumors of a break-up…sorry haters it’s all love.  Yep plenty of there were plenty of fireworks at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

In case you missed it, here's a look at the entire show!

Now for the lows, there were also shots fired.  Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight was shot six times at a pre MTV VMA bash hosted by Chris Brown.  Multiple shots were fired inside the club sending club-goers screaming and shouting into the streets.  It’s believed that Knight was the target, but authorities aren’t rushing to conclusions.  By the way, Suge was one of three people shot.   The suspects shot Suge 6 times including in the stomach, but didn’t kill him.  I guess his 6’4, 265 stature helped him absorb the bullets.

The 49-year old left a trail of blood from the club entrance and from there, actually walked with several bullet wounds and got into a sheriff’s car before being hauled away by paramedics.
