Today in Tha Wire it's being reported that 37-year old Jelani Maraj, brother of Nicki Minaj, has been indicted on sexual assault charges against a child.  According to reports, Jelani Maraj is being accused of raping a 12 year old girl.  The charges stem from his arrest last year in December and it's unclear if the girls parents notified police or if Nassau County filed charges due to a complaint.

In fact the Nassau D.A’s office, has declined to comment on the case, including how the matter came to authorities’ attention in the first place.  Non the less Maraj was arrested and taken to the Nassau County jail.  Reportedly a couple of days later he appeared before the sex crimes division of Nassau County Court for his arraignment, along with his lawyers Benjamin Brafman and Andrea Zellanwas.  He was released on $100,000 bond after pleading not guilty to all charges.  By the way it was initially reported that Nicki bailed her brother out, but she didn't, it was actually her mother who put up her home as a promissory note.

Shortly after the news broke, Complex News broke things down:

Though he's from Nassau, Maraj was in Long Island, N.Y. when police arrested him late last year. According to reports the 12-year-old, alleged victim, claimed he’d been raping her for several months.  Ironically the last time supposedly being, one day before his arrest.  Get this, a few months before all this went down, dude had married his longtime girlfriend Jacqueline Robinson on Aug. 22, 2016.  His proud sister marked the momentous occasion uploading several pics on social media.

Maraj's case was sent before a grand jury in the Nassau County Supreme Court’s sex crimes division.  They deliberated for about a month to determine if there was enough evidence to charge him and apparently there was.  So the jury decided he would be facing the following charges: first-degree rape, felony predatory sexual assault against a child, two felony counts of sexual conduct against a child and a misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.

There's always two sides to every story, but if Jelani Maraj can't prove his innocence his future doesn't look so bright.  If convicted he's looking at 15 years.

Let this serve as a warning : MEN IF SHE'S UNDER 18, YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL!   SO FIND YOURSELF A GROWN ASS WOMAN AND LEAVE THEM LITTLE GIRLS ALONE!
