There are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Louisiana as of Saturday.

That's the verdict from The Louisiana Department of Health via an update from their social media page.

Eight patients were tested for the novel coronavirus in the state, all with negative results.

Since gaining capacity to test for the virus, all outgoing test results should come in quicker than before.

According to the Advocate, the latest update comes after officials broadened the criteria for who is eligible for being tested.

They say that numerous hospitals around the state also began screening more patients when being admitted.

So far there have been at least 400 cases of the virus around the U.S. of those cases, 19 people have died from the virus.

There are over 100,000 cases worldwide.
