Just days after the death of Sunset, La. Police Officer Henry Nelson, and Louisiana State Trooper Steven Vincent in Starks, La. (Near Lake Charles), another law enforcement officer’s life has been senselessly taken. According to KHOU, a northwest Harris County Sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed at a gas station Friday (Aug. 28).

The deputy was on duty filling his patrol car at a Chevron in northwest Harris County at the intersection of Telge and West Road minutes from Cypress, when he was shot from behind, said Harris County Sheriff’s Spokesperson Officer Thomas Gilliland.

Unfortunately the deputy died at the scene. The suspect described as "a dark-skinned male who’s about 5-feet 10-inches or 6-feet tall wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts,” may have fled the scene in red or maroon-colored Ford pickup truck, possibly an extended Ford Ranger, said KHOU.
