No more waiting for your number to be announced or standing in long lines at the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) Now you can take care of all that business online! This service is helpful for residents, especially those who with car dealerships who just need to do a simple check.

Before this long-overdue improvement, all verifications had to be processed manually at the OMV and that took nearly all day. Commissioner Karen St. Germain spoke on how much this system update is going to impact customer service saying, “This new online service option eliminates potential fraudulent title activity and saves guests a trip to an OMV field office,” she continued. “We remain committed to serving our guests in innovative ways by providing valuable online options and giving exemplary customer service.”

According to the OMV, title verifications can be processed 24 hours a day, seven days a week! Please note the new online system cannot be used to look up title history information and will not provide any sensitive information. Keep the following information handy when you go online to start the process.
