Rich Homie Quan received some good news and bad news regarding his arrest this past weekend in Georgia. The “Type of Way” rapper escaped weapons charges but will have to face a felony drug possession charge for weed reports TMZ.

As we previously reported, RHQ and his entourage was stopped at a police checkpoint and arrested. Reportedly, the police suspected members of the group to be in possession of a stolen gun along with controlled substances, namely marijuana and ecstasy.

It's unclear how much weed was allegedly in the Atlanta rapper's possession. Apparently, police discovered a stolen gun as well but they won't pin that on Quan. As XXL points out, Georgia has very strict drug laws. A possession of less than an ounce of marijuana counts only as a misdemeanor, but having an ounce or more is considered a felony. If Quan is convicted, TMZ reports that he could be facing up to 30 years in jail. Yikes!

Hopefully, Quan won't get hit with a heavy prison sentence, especially since he just signed with Motown Records. He's expected to drop his debut album under the label, tentatively titled Going In, this year. RHQ's arrest certainly puts a crinkle in his rap career.

Attorneys for Rich Homie Quan had no comment on the matter.
