Rising Louisiana Gas Prices Starting To Stabilize

Could we see some relief on the rising trend of gas prices in Louisiana?

GasBuddy’s daily survey of 2,436 stations in Louisiana has found gas prices have risen 2.9 cents per gallon in the past week, sending the state average price of gas to $2.63 per gallon. Gas prices in Louisiana are 73.6 cents per gallon higher than at this time last year and 32 cents higher than a month ago. We're seeing a slowing of how fast the gas prices are rising. However, at this point, any increase is a shot to the checkbook for most.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, said inflation fears here at home and another COVID-19 scare overseas have driven the price of oil up. He also said he feels that with restrictions being eased more here stateside along with the fact that people will start traveling again and filling up their gas tanks, we should see a reduction in gas prices.

There is good news on the price of gas nationally, as it fell 0.3 cents to an average of $2.86 per gallon. The national average is up 78.2 cents higher per gallon than this time last year and 22.2 cents higher than last month.
