2026 Southwest District Livestock Show & Rodeo
This weekend, the Southwest District Livestock Show & Rodeo is gonna be back here in Lake Charles this weekend.
The rodeo kicks off Thursday night with Mutton Bustin’ starting at 7:15 p.m., followed by the rodeo at 7:30 p.m. inside the Burton Coliseum. The same schedule continues Friday night, with Mutton Bustin’ at 7:15 p.m. and the rodeo beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday features two shows, with the first rodeo starting at 2:00 p.m. Later that evening is Gator 99.5 Night at the Rodeo, which includes live music from the Barbe Show Choir at 6:30 p.m., Mutton Bustin’ at 7:15 p.m., and the final rodeo performance at 7:30 p.m. inside the Burton Coliseum.

Rusty Metoyer has become one of the hottest zydeco bands in not only Southwest Louisiana, but the entire Deep South. The band is led by Rusty Metoyer, a self-taught musician from Lake Charles. Music runs in his family—his uncles and grandfathers all played Creole French, Zydeco, Jazz, and Blues. Rusty picked up the accordion by ear in the traditional French style, and he’s proud to keep his Creole roots alive.
Rusty Metoyer and Zydeco Krush will be in concert at Cowboys Lake Charles following the Southwest District Livestock Show & Rodeo. It is for the Rodeo Afterparty on Friday Night - Doors will open at 9:00 with the show running from 10-1.
