Top Dawg Entertainment has been on top since releasing Kendrick Lamar’s Damn. project earlier this year. Up next will be SZA’s long-awaited major label debut CTRL, which arrives on June 9. Now comes word that ScHoolboy Q will release a new album this year as well.

According to OkayPlayer, during Ab-Soul’s YMF tour stop in Los Angeles last week (May 26), ScHoolboy made a surprise appearance onstage and teased that he might deliver another project after SZA’s CTRL. "I just might have my album for y’all after SZA, so I’m out here," he told the crowd.

ScHoolboy Q's Grammy-nominated album Blank Face LP, was released last year, so that's a quick turnaround for the California rhymer's fifth studio effort. Earlier this year, Q shared in an Instagram post that new album is in the works. "New album 2017 f--- a break I’m already ready,” he wrote.

OkayPlayer also points out that ScHoolboy has been in the studio with in-demand producers like Zaytoven and Alchemist.

Salute to ScHoolboy Q for being a workhorse the studio. We can't wait to hear some new music from the TDE artist.
