Shooting in Sulphur Sparks Search for Person Responsible
Update: Kalley Murphy was apprehended and taken into custody in Lafayette with assistance from Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, Carencro Police Department, and the Marshal’s Office Task Force.
On Tuesday morning at approximately 3:30am, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's office deputies were called to a residence on Eugene Lane in Lake Charles after receiving a call in reference to a shooting.
Once the officers arrived, they located two victims inside the residence who were suffering from gunshot wounds. Detectives were able to view video surveillance from the home and say they saw a suspect standing at the front door and kicking on it. The suspect was an acquaintance of one of the residents in the home.
Detectives are currently attempting to locate Kalley N. Murray, 23 of Sulphur. Murray, who has an active warrant in the amount of $450,000, which includes two counts of aggravated battery, six counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon during a crime of violence. There were two victims, ages 10 and 28, who were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
