Suge Knight Hit-and-Run Video Released – Tha Wire [VIDEO]
Today in Tha Wire video has surfaced in the Suge Knight hit-and-run case and while he's hoping the footage will exonerate him, the family of the man he killed hopes it will convict him.
BET reports former rap mogul Suge Knight remains in jail, being held without bail after running over two men in the parking lot of Tam's Burgers in Compton earlier this year. He killed one man, identified as Terry Carter and injured another identified as Cle "Bone" Sloan, when he struck them with his truck. The 49-year old has been charged hit-and-run, murder and attempted murder.
Now a video of the incident has surfaced and while he and his lawyer are hoping the graphic footage with exonerate him, the victims families are hoping he'll be convicted of murder.
To give a little background, the video of the fatal hit-and-run shows a man believed to be Cle "Bone" Sloan approach a red truck (believed to be driven by Suge Knight) as it pulls into the parking lot. The man is making some sort of gesture, as if in a heated discussion. Then the driver backs up and hits him with the backside of the vehicle, then pulls forward hitting a man identified as Terry Carter. It appears Carter became lodged under the front fender and tire, as he was dragged for a few yards. The truck comes to a brief stop and then speed off leaving the scene. Terry Carter was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
According to TMZ, the video was released with the approval of Carter's family. Their lawyer Gary Dordick told the site, "The Carter family is pleased you are releasing the video so the public can see what actually occurred and not be forced to speculate based on third party descriptions of the video." So you'll know the part were Carter is being run over was blurred because his injuries were so gruesome.
So what's Suge's defense? Well you'll have to listen to Tha Wire below for that. But I will say this, he and his legal team seem to think the video will help him. The Carter's I'm sure, see things differently. What do you think? Was this intentional or not? Let us know.
Meanwhile, Suge is expected back in today Monday (March 9). Ironically, the former Death Row CEO told the judge over the case that he fired his lawyers. He also claimed he was going blind during his last appearance in court. Whether it had any effect on the judge, is another story. His health has been in decline since being shot six times last August and he's been hospitalized several times since then.
In the hearing today, Knights reportedly requesting prosecutors give him any potential evidence in the case. For more on this, listen to Tha Wire below and find out what celebs are celebrating birthdays today.
