Starks Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Fatality Victim Identified

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office has released the name of the victim of a hit-and-run fatality in Starks that occurred on morning of October 29, 2019.

According to a media release from Kim Myers (CPSO), it was at about 6:40am when the Sheriff's Office was called out to the 100 block of Green Moore Road in Starks. Investigators learned the driver of a car struck a pedestrian, Willis P. Jones, 32, Starks. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation determined a car traveling northbound on Green Moore Road struck Jones, who was "standing in the middle of the roadway". "The driver pulled over and attempted to flag down another vehicle for help, at which time a car traveling southbound struck Jones. The driver of the second car did not stop", said Myers

The suspect vehicle is described as a small newer model car with small LED lights surrounding the headlights.  The car will have obvious damage to the lower front end.
