Local restaurants in the Lake Charles area are chipping in to feed people in need. SWLA residents, almost a year later, are still struggling to rebuild. Many don't have enough to eat, and last year's storms have only made a growing problem in Louisiana worse.

For the next 30 days, several restaurants in the area will be donating non-perishable food items to the Water's Edge food pantry, located at 2760 Power Center Parkway. Food donations will assist the local homeless shelter in providing daily nutritious hot meals. The team effort will certainly go a long way in stamping out hunger here in Southwest Louisiana.

Shouts-out to the participating restaurants making a difference so far: Casa Manana, Que Pasa, Luna's, Buffi’s Peaux Boys, 121 Artisan Bistro, The Villa Harlequin, Mellow Mushroom, Steamboat Bill's, The James 710, and Restaurant Calla.

One in four people, especially over the age of 60, don't know where their next meal is coming from. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer or donate, click here for more details.
