According to a City of Lake Charles media release, on Monday, November 18, at 8:30am, work will begin on the Henderson Bayou Bridge, causing a temporary closure expected to last 60 days, weather permitting.

The Henderson Bayou Bridge, connecting the 2900 and 3000 blocks of Henderson Bayou Road will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The temporary closure is scheduled to allow "necessary repairs to the bridge as well as replacing the east and west approaches".

Motorists should be aware of signs in the area, as traffic will be detoured to West Prien Lake Road. "Motorists typically traveling this route are advised to allow extra time for daily commutes".
