Temporary Closure: Russell Street Bridge, Beginning Monday, September 16

On Monday, September 16, the Russell Street Bridge, connecting 12th Street and Hillcrest Drive, near John F. Kennedy Elementary School, will close temporarily to allow necessary repairs. The area will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic, said a media release from the City of Lake Charles.

Contractors will be working to replace the north side approach to the bridge as well as making necessary repairs to the bridge itself. Construction is expected to last approximately 40 days, weather permitting.

Traffic to J.F. Kennedy Elementary School will use Hillcrest Drive as an alternate route.
