Today in Tha Wire, get a re-cap on the America Music Awards, plus DJ Mister Cee resigns from New York's Hot 97 for the second time.

In case you missed it, the American Music Awards aired last night (November 23) on ABC.  Live from the Nokia Theatre in L.A., TheBoomBox reports the stars came out in droves to both entertain and be entertained.  Here's a look at some of the performances.

Iggy Azalea & Charli XCX - Fancy / Beg For It... by uploaderdisney
Iggy Azalea performed twice and was one of the nights biggest winners walking away with the Favorite rap/Hip Hop Artist Rap and Favorite rap/Hip Hop Album.  To the shock of rap fans everywhere, the Aussie born MC beat out Drake and Eminem, which was a joke.  I like her, don't get me wrong....but she didn't deserve to over Drake or Em.

Drake was robbed if you ask me.   But it's not like this hasn't happened before, the same thing happened when Macklemore and Ryan Lewis swept all the rap categories at the Grammy's in January winning over both Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West.

Anyway other acts performing that night were Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Sam Smith, A$AP Rocky, Ne-Yo and more.  Beyonce' scored two trophy's for the Bee Hive, John Legend and Juicy J also won awards.  For a video re-cap of the show, peep Tha Wire post at

BET reports last Friday (Nov. 21) was DJ Mister Cee’s last day at New York's Hot 97.  This will be the famous radio DJ's second departure this year.   Cee was caught several times having sexual encounters in public with men and was even arrested in May for soliciting sex from a male cop posing as a prostitute.

This as you can imagine has had a major effect on his career.  So he resigned, but do to overwhelming support, he came back.  Last week,  Funkmaster Flex took to his Instagram page and announced Cee is throwing in the towel.

Listen to Tha Wire below and find out what he said.  Plus find out what celebs are celebrating birthdays today.
