I'm just a little excited, don't mind me. If you're a crawfish lover you may even share my enthusiasm, as Louisiana's famous delicacy is going to be readily available at your favorite seafood retailer for the next few months.

Crawfish season is from January through July. On January 20, 2025, Louisiana experienced an Artic Winter Snow Storm that shut the state down for a week. At the same time, the freezing temperatures put a temporary halt to nearly all farming. Turns out crawfish aren't as active in frigid temperatures. Can you blame them?

Prices were higher during the wacky North Pole-like too! Though there was a brief stall in the season, SWLA is back in crawfish-boilin' and eatin' business, and prices are dropping. Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler. Time for some crawfish cher!
