KPLC 7 reports Vinton's Pick-A-Kid organization, is expanding and adding a branch in Sulphur to help more families in need of school supplies.  In case your not familiar, the Pick-A-Kid organization is based out of Vinton, La and has been around for about a year.  Run by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to give back,  the organization was launched on Facebook.  Do to it's overwhelming popularity and participation, Pick-A-Kid is growing and now expanding to help families in need in Sulphur.

David Smith, founder and president of Pick-A-Kid, told KPLC 7, they are  "excited to help more people." adding, "It's something new and hopefully something huge."  Speaking of which, Ashley Fancher is the new manager at the Sulphur branch and she says they're collecting basic school supply items right now.  They are also looking for at least 6 people to help me run the Sulphur branch by working the sign up table, setting up for distributing the school supplies, brainstorming on ways to help our community and more.

Fancher told KPLC 7, once the back to school supplies are delivered, they are distributed to families that sign up just in time for the upcoming school year.  Why do they do this?  It's simply Fancher said,  "Our calling is to help people," she continued. "That's what my passion is. We just want to help."

So sign-up today!  For more details on the organization or to volunteer, go the the Pick-A-Kid of Sulphur, La Facebook page and inbox a message.
