Webbie Avoids Jail Time in Domestic Violence Case
Webbie will have to deal with the ramifications of his current domestic violence case, but it doesn't appear that jail will be one of them. According to TMZ, the Louisiana rapper has avoided jail time after being accused of beating and choking his girlfriend.
The rhymer has been sentenced to one year of probation after pleading guilty to the charge of battery. In addition to this, he will have to serve 20 hours of community service.
For Webbie, who was first charged with battery last July, this news has to be welcome. That doesn't mean, however, he can afford to engage in illegal activities.
While he's avoiding jail time, the saga of Meek Mill proves probation can be a perilous route. Last fall, the rapper was sentenced to two years in prison for violating the terms of a probation he'd gotten nearly a decade prior. While Meek was freed this past April, it took a Supreme Court hearing and plenty of national attention to make that happen.
At the time Webbie was first charged for his case, it was reported that the rapper had attacked his girlfriend with "a closed fist, an open hand. It was also said that the woman had been left with lacerations, abrasions and bruises left on her body after his attack.
Webbie, who is also known for being affiliated with Boosie BadAzz, has yet to speak on this matter.
