What Hitting Rock Bottom Taught Mike Tyson
In a 2009 interview with Oprah, Mike Tyson talked about what was most important about losing everything he worked so hard for. It’s also a reminder of what God gives when he takes away.
When speaking about his extravagant and sometimes tumultuous lifestyle, the famed boxer said “You think you’ve been around, you made money, you know people. You think you’re really special in this world, and then you realize when the crap really hits the fan... You have no idea, you don’t even have a clue what’s going on.”
Mike also discussed having no boundaries when it came to women and drugs, and now living a life where he’s monogamous. The famed boxer even says that he could have been killed for the amount of money he owed drug dealers, and he felt they never came to collect because they felt sorry for him.
It’s an old interview, but my first time seeing it. Certainly a great perspective from a man who captivated audiences world wide, but also spent his entire life being misunderstood.
