The Fall Harvest and Halloween holiday are in full swing and the Lake Area has several events going on throughout this festival time.

The City of Lake Charles recommends that trick-or-treat activities end at 8 p.m. Halloween night. Parents are encouraged to have their children home by 8:30 p.m. unless they are attending a supervised function sponsored by other parents or civic organizations.

 

Below are the children/family friendly scheduled events in the Lake Area, as well as adult only Halloween parties and celebrations.

THE FOLLOWING EVENTS ARE CHILDREN AND FAMILY FRIENDLY:

OCTOBER 2 - 31, 2015

Lost Hollows Haunted Attraction - The Lost Hollows is the newest and only entertainment venue in Lake Charles, Louisiana offering a family-friendly Spooky Timbers trail and terror-filled Deadly Pines trail. Open daily for all ages, including Halloween night from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m.

You will not be allowed on the trails without the proper footwear. High heels, flip flops, sandals, etc. are not appropriate for walking through the woods. You MUST wear closed-toe shoes to enter.

USS Orleck's Carnival of Screams - See something unexpected & totally twisted aboard The USS Orleck Naval Museum, as the Haunted Ship division presents: Carnival of Screams. This is an annual event which takes place every October on Friday and Saturday.

Family Fun Day & Trunk or Treat - Moss Bluff United Methodist Church, located at 735 Sam Houston Jones Pkwy.  This event is free and open to the public from 3 - 6 p.m.

 

THURSDAY OCTOBER 22, 2015 

A.B. Franklin's Senior Citizens Bingo - Come enjoy everyone's favorite past time, Bingo!  Enjoy money games, refreshments and door prizes.  Bingo night will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.at the Foreman Reynaud Community Center, located at 215 Albert Street in Lake Charles.

 

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 28, 2015

A.B. Franklin's Kids Halloween Party - Bring your little ones out in there best costumes to the annual A.B. Halloween party at McMillan Park, located at 343 Goos Street in Lake Charles.  This is a super fun event that is also family friendly.  Enjoy horse and buggy rides, an electric train and face painting.

Plus there will be plenty of candy, pizza and sodas from 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m for all to enjoy.

 

FRIDAY OCTOBER 30

The Order of Eastern Star Queen of the South Chapter Annual Trunk-R-Treat - Calling all schools and churches.  Come out and enjoy our fun filled plans for families of all ages. Dress in your best costumes, eat, drink, play and win prizes through out the evening.  A parent or guardian MUST accompany their children while at the event. This is a free event that will take place at the Masonic Lodge, located at 333 V.E. Washington Street from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

OCTOBER 29 - 31, 2015

The Rocky Horror Show - The Rocky Horror show is a Halloween Cult Classic musical and it's going to take place at Central School Arts & Humanities Center, located at 809 Kirby Street in Lake Charles.  Please come out, get into the spirit and enjoy 4 performances. SATURDAY OCTOBER 31, 2015

The Children's Museum Halloween - Bring your little ghouls and goblins by the museum, located at 327 Broad Street in Lake Charles for an all day Halloween celebration.  The fun begins at 11 a.m., for more info call (337) 433-9420.

 

Lake Charles Community Band Fall/Halloween Concert - Enjoy a live show in beautiful Prien Lake Park, located at 3700 W. Prien Lake Rd. in Lake Charles.  The Lake Charles Community Band will perform their annual Fall Concert. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic snacks to this free event beginning at 3 p.m.

 

Halloween Harvest Festival 2015 - The City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department's presents their annual Harvest Festival at the Lake Charles Civic Center, 900 Lakeshore Drive, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.  This event is free and open to the public featuring a ton of family fun with games, face painting, train rides and more.  Plus, a costume contest with prizes given out for the Most Scary Costume, Best Homemade Costume and Best Store Bought Costume.

There will also be a "Tiny TOTS World” for smaller children being held in the Exhibition Hall.

 

Spooktacular Mall-O-Ween - Come out to the annual spooktacular at the Lake Charles Prien Lake Mall, located at 496 W. Prien Lake Rd.  This is event allows your children an opportunity to experience Halloween in a safe, controlled environment from 5 - 6:30 p.m. Enjoy frightfully fun activities, while participating stores hand out treats to all the little ghouls and goblins!

Sale Street Baptist Church Trunk or Treat - Provided the weather is good Sale Street Baptist Church, located at 1611 W. Sale Rd., in Lake Charles is having a Trunk or Treat.  Children in the area as well as their family and friends are invited to participate.

This is a free event that will include tons of candy, food and music.  In addition the kids will love playing in the bounce houses.  So come out and enjoy Halloween in a safe and family friend environment.

Saturday October 31, 2015

The Townsquare Media Annual Monster Bash - After you put your little ghouls and goblins to sleep, join the rest of the adults for grown-up monster ball. It would be worth your while to wear a costume, as we there will be $5,000 in prizes given away for the hottest costumes! The is a FREE event, but tickets will be required to gain access.  Listen to any Townsquare Media station to get yours:  The Peoples Station 107 Jamz (107.5 FM), Gator 99.5, Kiss FM 92.1, 92.9 The Lake and Cajun Radio.

Don't miss the biggest adult Halloween party in the area, also featuring New Orleans cover band Bag of Dounts.  The party gets started at 8 p.m.  You can also stop by our "Selfie Station" to make sure you get the best picture of your awesome 'stume -- you may even get a prize for that, too!  Must be 21 or older to attend.

 

Jack Daniels Halloween Party 2015 - Come on out to Jack's for plenty of adult fun, complete with a $10,000 Halloween Costume Contest.  Be ready to Party doors open @ 8 p.m. and registration for the contest will take place 8 - 10 p.m.  Winners announced at 10:30 pm!

It takes place at Jack Daniels Bar & Grill, L’Auberge Casino Resort, located at 777 Avenue L'Auberge.  Must be 21 or older to attend.

 

Halloween At The Longhorn : Apocalypse of Hollywood - Doors open at the Longhorn Entertainment Complex at 9 p.m. and then get ready for a creepy Halloween party out of this world.  The Longhorn is located at the Corner I-10 & Hwy 109 S. (Exit 4).

Don't miss the excitement, plus plenty of cash and prizes valued at $3,000.
