Andre 3000 Joins Cast of New AMC TV Series ‘Dispatches From Elsewhere’
Andre 3000 was recently spotted playing the flute Philadelphia, and now we may know why he was there.
According to a report the Atlanta Journal-Constitution published Thursday (July 18), the former OutKast rapper has accepted a role on AMC's upcoming series Dispatches From Elsewhere. Actor Jason Segal from CBS' How I Met Your Mother created the series and will star alongside 3 Stacks.
The OutKast rapper's role hasn't been revealed just yet but the plot of the drama series is focused on a "group of people who stumble onto a peculiar puzzle that hides behind everyday life and discover an ever-deepening mystery." The 10-episode series has already started production in Philadelphia, which may explain why Andre was found roaming the city recently.
Although he's had a few prominent features lately, Andre 3000 has seemingly tried to stay out of the limelight. Still, his fans keep running into him. It's also been hard for him to dodge attention when he surprises fans by playing musical instruments in random places like the streets of Philly and airports.
His new role in AMC's upcoming series will serve as another unique addition to his acting resume. Last year, 3 Stacks appeared in the Sci-Fi movie High Life alongside actor Robert Pattinson. The veteran rapper plays Tcherny, who goes on an intergalactic trip to the black hole in space with Monte (Pattinson) and a band of other inmates played by Mia Goth, Lars Eidinger, Ewan Mitchell, Agata Buzek, Jessie Ross and Claire Tran.
The AMC series does not have a premiere date yet.
