The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LiHEAP) is helping low income residents pay utilities.  Calcasieu Parish residents can now apply for financial assistance and get help to pay their electricity and gas utility bills.  Starting Tuesday, January 17 residents can call, (337) 721-4033 between the hours of 7 a.m. -7 p.m. and make an appointment.

The LiHEAP program gives assistance based on a resident’s total income.  Persons over the age of 60, the disabled and households with children under 5-years of age get priority. Applications will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis and residents must schedule an appointment with a rep in order to apply for assistance.
