On Saturday, June 30, Best Buy officially stopped selling CDs.

Back in February of 2018, Billboard warned about the decline in U.S. CDs sales in 2017. Both Best Buy and Target then began on-demand sales of CDs on a consignment basis from record labels. Best Buy said it would continue the sales up until July 2, 2018.

The decline in CD sales is due in part to the increase in paid music subscriptions, which have soared into the billions. Best Buy's entertainment sales have reportedly seen a dip of 13.8 percent in 2017 as well, compared to a 0.3 percent dip in overall retail sales, said USA Today.

CD's are still available for purchase on the Best Buy website, but that too could come to pass. I guess we'll see!
