Bliss will be officially up for adoption after her surgery on April 16th.  Unfortunately she has a inherited, degenerative eye condition and is totally blind in one eye.  Thankfully, her other eye can be saved!  A special thank you goes out to the many people who donated money for Bliss to have surgery, especially everyone with Running For Rescues.

Just because a dog is blind or has an eye condition doesn't mean they are useless.  Just like people, they adapt very well to their condition and surroundings.  They deserve live, not be euthanize just because they have a handicap.  Blind dogs need love just like any other animal.  No one put that fact into words better than author Sherrill Wardrip, who wrote A Blind Dog's Poem.

Bliss is one lucky lady!  After her surgery, she'll need one eye drop a day and that's it. She is an American Bulldog and is not only spayed but, chipped, up to date on her shots and heart-worm negative.  See Bliss in action in video below and learn more about her.

As you can see, having one bad eye isn't effecting her one bit.  She's a ball of energy and as happy as can be.  Bliss is going to fit in perfectly with a family that includes kids. However, she can be a little leery about other dogs.  For more info, click on the link for Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue.
