Before I begin, it had not registered in my mind that NBA star Stephen Curry was the son of former Charlotte Hornets all-time leading scorer, Dell Curry. I learned something new today.

Stephen Curry was nominated the leagues 2014-2015 Kia NBA MVP over the likes of James Harden and Lebron James, on Monday (May 4, 2015). The Golden State Warriors point guard gave a great speech where he thanked his wife and family, and at some point a tearful thanks to his father for all he's done for him in helping him become the man he is today.

Though I’m a die-had San Antonio Spurs fan, I’m also a fan of humble men. Stephen Curry seems to be exactly that, and for that I’m a fan of who he is as a man. I wish him the best of luck in his career and look forward as a fan of basketball in general to seeing how far he takes it.
