Multiple award winner Denzel Washington, to me is hands down one of the most celebrated and accomplished African American actors ever. Guess what, he’s not letting those “Uncle Denzel” meme’s faze him one bit, when asked his thought about the popular internet meme his response, "If I had my wallet, I’d show it to you. They didn’t know what I was doing.”

It all began in May 2015 during the boxing match with Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao, when Washington was photographed wearing an Adidas track suit, a Yankee’s cap, and a handlebar mustache.  The following day the photo went viral depicting him as a working class uncle, that every black person either knows or has in their family. Little did the world know, Denzel’s “uncle” look was for an upcoming movie that he got paid very handsomely for.

The “Magnificent 7” actor also took it a step further citing "Those who can, do. Those who can’t, talk about those who can. Now can you, or can you not? Or you just one who sits on the sideline and talk about other people, or can you step up.” Spoken like a very wise man.

Denzel Washington stars in his latest film, a western, "Magnificent Seven” along with Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke.

Check out a few of the “Uncle Denzel” memes below, they are hilarious nonetheless!
