Saturday March 28, 2015 is election day here in SWLA.  It is a special election, where voters in Calcasieu Parish will consider a proposed half-cent sales tax to fund salaries for law enforcement. There are no state candidates scheduled to run in this election.

According to the Lake Charles American Press, Allen Parish voters will decide on several millage renewals for roads and bridges.  On the ballot for voters in Jeff Davis Parish, voters will decide on a millage renewal for drainage maintenance.  For more information on elections in your parish, see the Louisiana Secretary of State website.

The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.  See your sample ballot on geauxvote.com or download their free app.  The deadline to request a mail in ballot is March 24, 2015.
