For the 9th year in a row, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has created a family friendly and alcohol-free area for families to enjoy the Mardi Gras experience.  The Zone offers plenty of good times, without to worry of exposing children to some of the unappropriate adult activities that come along with carnival season.  The annual event is open to kids, tweens and teens.

There's something for everyone to enjoy from laser tag, to a live DJ, bounce houses, train rides, face painting and more!  So if you're a parent looking for a family-friendly option during Mardi Gras, this is it.  Come out to the empty parking lot between the Charleston Hotel and Parish Courthouse on Ryan Street, February 28, 2017 from noon to 4 p.m.

This is a free event, that's open to the public and completely alcohol and tobacco free!  Plus there will be plenty to snack on as well.  Vendors will be selling pizza, popcorn, refreshments, cotton candy and snow cones.  Your kids will never want to go home!

In “The Zone” the good times roll with a live D.J., laser tag, bounce houses, train rides, face painting and a game truck! Kids can snack on pizza, popcorn, sno cones, Coca Cola and cotton candy during all the fun. “The Zone” is designed to offer a safe, fun environment for the community’s youth to experience during the Mardi Gras revelry.
