Honoring Veterans At The ‘Calcasieu Christmas Hams For Hero’s’ In Lake Charles
Seasons greetings to Veterans and families! Saturday, December 2, Once Was Inc. and Louisiana State Police Troop D are pairing up to honor area members of the Armed Forces with a special holiday gift. Knowing how much these brave men and women put on the line every day for us and the country makes this time of year the perfect opportunity to say...THANK YOU.
Don't miss the second annual "Calcasieu Christmas Hams For Hero's" holiday event. All Veterans in SWLA are invited to come by the LSP Office (805 Main St.) with their I.D. between 11 am and 1 pm to pick up a free ham and toys for Christmas.
Once Was Inc. is a Veterans community outreach nonprofit that was launched in 2018 by husband and wife duo Petty Officer Michael Edmond (also known as DJ Navy Vet) and his wife, a longtime educator, Raquel Edmond. Ever since then, this military couple has been on a mission to make sure Veterans in SWLA and Southeast Texas have access to military base facilities, resources, and services in the areas in which they live.
"Calcasieu Christmas Hams For Hero's" is part of the Once Was Inc. Service Saturdays initiative. More than 200 free hams and toys will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
