Today in Tha Wire as the world looked on, America elected it's new commander-in-chief on Tuesday November 8, 2016. Despite her best efforts Hillary Clinton lost the opportunity to make history by becoming America's first female president, for a second time.  Clinton, conceded in the early morning hours with a phone call to president elect, Donald Trump, and later today will address the nation.

President Barack Obama will also address the nation later today.  Without question he did everything he could to help Clinton win, not simply because of her qualifications but, because she would have preserved his legacy by protecting the laws he put in place. After last nights results, it's clear the work he put in will soon be erased.  Yet, his place in history can never be erased.  He is and will forever be known as one of America's greatest presidents.  Thank you for being a leader, a good example and the true image of the American dream!  I am grateful that you came into office in my lifetime (I will tell your story till I die), I recognize the tremendous sacrifices you've made, I appreciate your endurance in the face of such extreme hate and adversity, your service and work ethic.  Most of all on this day, I am so sorry we failed to you.......

Staying true to his famous characteristics of poise, professionalism and unshakable demeanor, the POTUS has already congratulated the 70-year-old real estate developer-turned-reality TV star, on becoming the 45th president of the United States. According The White House press secretary being the class act he is, President Obama put his personal feelings aside and extended an invite for Trump to join him for a meeting at the White House.  Word has it, he accepted and the meeting may go down as early as tomorrow.

Really Donald? We shall see.....  Shouts out to my man, CNN anchor Van Jones who made an emotional speech last night as Trump won the election with 276 electoral votes, to Clinton's 218.  Jones explained what many minorities in this country are feeling about the results of this election.  Thank you brotha for keeping your cool and saying what needed to be said.  Thank you Hillary Clinton for fighting a good fight!  They did everything to try and tear you down, but you never gave up.  You showed the world what real "Girl Power" looks like.  Little girls around the world can now imagine themselves being in the highest office in the land, because of what you've done.  For that.... you are my hero!
