Is Eminem Releasing New Music Tomorrow?
It appears that Eminem could be dropping new music tomorrow (Aug. 30).
At exactly 4:00 Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 28) a tweet was sent from Shady’s official twitter, which read “People think they want this problem 'til they get it.” The fact that the tweet was apparently scheduled makes it already look like some sort of promotional facet to something larger. It was planned.
Secondly, this Saturday (Aug. 31) marks the one-year anniversary of Em’s Kamikaze album, which shook the current state of hip-hop when it dropped in 2018. With the tweet coming just days before the record's anniversary, quite a few eyebrows have been raised.
Additionally, two individuals Slim has previously worked with have addressed tweet. His longtime producer Fred Wreck quoted it and said, “The Lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of ants.”
The other was Illa Da Producer who cooked up a few bangers on Kamikaze. He simply posted a screenshot of the Shady Records founder’s tweet on Instagram and captioned it with the eyes emoji and Em’s handle.
It’s also evident that the Detroit MC has been in the studio since Kamikaze’s drop. Not only did he recently reunite with 50 Cent on Ed Sheeran's new song "Remember the Name," also hopped on Logic's "Homicide." Last week, a hacker, who was backed by a crowd-funded campaign, managed to leak the entire version of “Nut Up,” a song that was originally meant for Em’s Relapse 2 album, which was scrapped entirely. It has since been removed from most places on the web.
More-so, although it still doesn’t confirm anything, longtime Eminem collaborator the Skylar Grey's posted that she's "back in the lab with Em." However, she added in the caption to see Slim's face and the picture just shows an M&M character in the background. Still, seems odd that she'd post this within the vicinity of everything else that has happened.
All signs seem to point to new music from Eminem, but we'll have to wait and see on Friday.
