Things To Do In Lake Charles And SWLA This Weekend August 4-6

It has been a long and hot week here in Southwest Louisiana. Between the work week crawling and the excessive heat in the area, we are all beaten down and tired. The only saving grace is that it is Friday and we can put that all behind us and get out there and do something fun this weekend, hopefully indoors right?

As we do each Friday, we have made a list of things to do in Southwest Louisiana and Lake Charles and compiled them here for you so here we go.

For all you 80s babies out there, get ready to rock out with 1980s bands Great White and Slaughter live in concert at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center. The show is Saturday night August 5th and they hit the stage at 8:00 pm.

Johnny Jimenez will be live at Panorama Music House in downtown Lake Charles Friday night, August 4th, 2023. Johnny and the band will play live from 9:00 pm to Midnight.

Brad Brinkley will be live at Mr. Bills Seafood Express which is located at 500 East McNeese Street in Lake Charles. Brad plays Saturday night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The city of Iowa is having its first-ever Farmers market Saturday morning, August 5th, 2023 inside the Iowa City park under the pavilion. It takes place from 8:00 am to Noon.

The Pro Watercross National Championships will be taking place at the West end of the I-10 beach in Lake Charles this weekend, August 5-6. The show gets underway at 11:00 am on Saturday and amateur racing begins at 8:45 am on Sunday.

Swamp Pop Sunday will take place on Sunday inside the Blue Martini at the Golden Nugget. The event runs from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday and Louisiana Express will be performing live.
